Dr. Basudev Prasad,(National Head)

Dr. Prasad received his M Sc. (Physics) in 1976 and Ph. D. degree in the area of Solar PV in 1983 both from University of Roorkee, Roorkee In 1983, he joined Electronics Division, BHEL, Bangalore, IndiaDr. Prasad has been one of the founder members, responsible for the establishment of fully automated
MNRE– BHEL Amorphous Silicon solar cell Plant during the seventh Five-Year Plan (1987-92), first-of- its-kind in the world Dr. Prasad joined TERI University, Department of Energy and Environment as Professor and Head, and involved in M.Tech teaching, Ph.D. supervision, guiding sponsored research projects and organizing MDP/ training in the area of Solar PV technology. Established CoE in “Solar Thermal Energy storage” (DSC, TGA & TC facilities) under MHRD funded project and Updating of syllabus for M Tech and PG Dip in RE courses. Dr. Prasad was entrusted a role in RET (Request Expert Team) constituted by CTCN-UNIDO International Center, Vienna, Austria& provided plan for Technical Assistance in development of Solar PV cell industry in Iran. Dr. Prasad has a number of publications and patents to his credit and is the reviewer of international journals and served a number of technical / project proposal evaluation committees of BHEL, NPL, MNRE, NRDC, SCGJ (Skill Council For Green Jobs) and DST etcDr. Prasad has also been examiner of a Ph. D. Thesis from Deptt of Energy Science & Engg, IIT Bombay. He has also reviewed Book chapters on Solar Energy for TERI Press. During 2014, Prof. Prasad was nominated as Domain Expert for spot study of world’s first Canal top Solar PV project implemented by M/s Gujarat State Electricity Corporation Ltd. (GSECL), Vadodara, for PM’s Awards (2013-14) for Excellence in Public Administration.

Dr. Sudhir Kumar, a Ph.D. on “Solar Cells” from IIT Bombay and has 30+ years’ experience in the field of renewable energy as Scientist, Govt. Technocrat and Solar Energy Expert. Earlier for nearly 5 years, he was Jt. Director & Head, Centre for Solar Energy, World Institute of Sustainable Energy, Pune wherein, he successfully completed guiding and facilitation of 345 MW of solar power projects, besides guiding the state governments of 7 states for renewable energy plan and policy.
1.As a parallel activity, he has been conducting lectures for M.Tech. (Energy) course at Pune University as external technical faculty on Wave, Tidal, Geothermal and Waste energy in addition to Fuel Cells, Energy Policies, Regulations and Laws.
2.His last Government job till February 2009 in Government of Maharashtra was to serve as G. M. (R&D), Maharashtra Energy Development Agency i.e. MEDA, Pune.
3.While serving in MEDA for 18 years, he headed various sections of solar energy, R&D, biogas, biomass, waste- to-energy, finance and finally overall administration. As a senior most officer, he was responsible for evaluating,
sanctioning and facilitating the projects, government policy pronouncements and handling regulatory matters such as RPS (Renewable Purchase Specification).

4.Prior to that, he served as a Senior Scientific Officer on Central Government projects on Energy Efficient Lighting, Biomass Gasification and Energy Plantation.
5.He has 25 technical papers published in various national and international journals and some of them are available on website. His 30 years of experience includes facilitation of solar power projects, capacity building, applied research, government projects executions, solar energy program implementation, government policy formulation and being instrumental in electricity regulatory matters and energy conservation.s last Government job till February 2009 in Government of Maharashtra was to serve as G. Dr.Prasad & Dr.Sudhir Kumar who have more than 60 years of collective experience in Solar Domain form the core of Association’s Training faculty. Dr Prasad served as Head of Deptt, in TERI involving M.Tech (REEM) teaching, PhD supervision, guiding sponsored research projects and organizing MDP/ training in the area of Solar PV technology.

Dr. Prasad has been participating in various international/national conferences in the areas of Solar PV/ Renewable/ Clean Energy, Employment linked skill development and related areas for delivering keynote address/ invited talks/ panel discussions etc. Dr Prasad has also been an examiner of a PhD. A thesis from Dept of Energy Science & Engg, IIT Bombay.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATION Yogeesh Kumar Singh is presently doing a PhD in the Energy system and his domain area is Performance and Reliability of different type of solar photovoltaic module technology. He has done M.B.A in Non -conventional Energy Management and Power Management and B.Tech in Electronics and Communication. Yogeesh Kumar Singh Presently working as Senior Research Scientist (SRS) in the solar photovoltaic division of National Institute of Solar Energy, where he is involved in various research and development activities of NISE. Performance and reliability of different photovoltaic technology modules viz: Monocrystalline Si, Multi-crystalline Si, hetro -junction with an intrinsic thin layer (HIT), Amorphous Silicon, CdTe in the actual outdoor condition. He is also working in various international collaborative projects of NISE with NREL -USA, AIST -Japan, Indo -UK STAPP project and The Solar Energy Research Institute for India and United State (SERIIUS), INDO -US project. Lead Project Coordinator of 500 kWp Multi Technology Power Plant at NISE. He is also coordinating in various National as well as International training program at NISE. LEAD PROGRAMME DIRECTOR AND LEAD MASTER TRAINER OF SOLAR SYSTEM DESIGN SOFTWARE (PVSYST ANS PVSOL) WORKSHOP AT NISE. Area of Interest: Solar Radiation Prediction, outdoor performance and reliability of different photovoltaic technologies, effect of environmental stresses on the performance and long-term reliability of PV technologies
